Mayor of Tangerang Provides Social Assistance for College Education Fees

Tangerang, Oct 25 2023 – In order to support the acceleration of achievement of activity program targets for the Tangerang City Government, the Government is implementing Social Education Assistance activities at the higher education level for poor students.

 

After the registration stage, the Mayor of Tangerang, accompanied by the Head of Social Services and the Head of Communication and Information of Tangerang City, held an inauguration for the distribution and provision of guidance regarding the social education assistance to 266 students on Wednesday, Oct 25 2023 in the Akhlakul Karimah Hall, Tangerang City Government Center.

 

The Tangerang City Government, through the Mayor, provides assistance in the form of education costs amounting to Rp. 6,000,000 which is given in one period and is not continuous, for the sake of equitable targets.

 

Students who are entitled to receive assistance are residents of Tangerang City who are or will be studying at tertiary institutions registered with DTKS and are not currently receiving assistance from any party.

 

Students through the Social Service submitted a proposal for assistance to the Mayor of Tangerang after fulfilling several requirements.

 

The funds used for this assistance come from the Tangerang City APBD which is intended to support the quality of education in Tangerang City.

 

"This assistance comes from the people of Tangerang City, so it is hoped that it can motivate all of you to study seriously and become successful people who are able to advance and improve the welfare of society," said Arief.

 

Apart from that, on this occasion, the Mayor of Tangerang together with the Chair of the Tangerang Ministry of Communication and Information and the Chair of the Social Service inaugurated the launch of the student education social assistance application.

 

With this application, it is easier for students who will register in the next program period to register via the application.

 

“In the future, prospective recipients can register for assistance with education costs via the Tangerang Live application,” Arief added.

 

For further information, students can access information on the Tangerang Live application in the "Bansos Mahasiswa" feature.
